This stained glass panel was made by cutting the antique bottles in half with a large diamond lapidary saw.It was constructed using the "Tiffany" method in which the glass edges are first wrapped with copper foil which allows for all the pieces to be soldered into a sturdy whole.A zinc border is then soldered on and all the metal surfaces are given an antique patina.Hanging chains are provided. The smallest bottle is sun colored a light amethyst and is embossed "B.F. Stinson & Co. Buffalo,N.Y. U.S.A. The cobalt blue one is embossed "Laxol A. J. White New York. The bottles in this window are ones that I have held back from many for their exceptional jewel-tone colors and great clarity & condition. All the bottles are antique or vintage collectibles. Even fairly common old bottles that have strong colors are growing scarcer and more expensive. These are what are known as "attic" bottles, meaning near mint condition. I build these windows myself in the U.S.A. and they are crafted to be enjoyed for generations. Each panel is one of kind. Overall size is: 18 1/2" w x 12" h Shipped via USPS Priority Mail packed in foam rubber. Insurance included. Will ship worldwide, inquire f or rates.
