This auction is for a mixed lot of stamps packed full into a priority mail medium flat rate box. This lot has to contain 10,000 or more stamps. I've stacked them and placed the loose ones into glassine envelopes to completely fill the box to the very top. All of these stamps are loose and not stuck together.Although most have been kept in glassine envelopes or boxes, I doubt that there is very much gum on the backs, because of the age and long time storage.
Some of the stamps included are as follows: Postage in mixed denominations from 1/2 cent to as high as $1.00---some 5/8 cent revenue---blocks of 2-4-6&8---mixed dates---mixed sizes---some foreign------postage due---air mail---special delivery---state sales stamps---internal revenue stamps---sales revenue stamps---oleomargarine stamps---pre-stamped postcard stamps---and possibly other types in the old brown glassine envelopes that I didn't open to inspect. The two boxes of stacked stamps in the middle of the first picture are bound in thread and they look to be in lots of 100 or more. Please view the pictures and bid accordingly. There is very little that I can tell you about these stamps other than the fact that the deceased owner of them started collecting in the late 1800's and died in the 1960's. His son, my father-in-law then started to sort them, got hooked and started to collect. He passed away in the 1980's. and we have stored then since then. They need to be placed with someone who can enjoy them, before they become damaged from being in storage any longer. I know very little on this subject, and don't want to learn, so please bear with me while I am listing these. I think that this box lot would make a great young persons (such as a cub scout or boy scout or girls scout) perfect start on a collection, after the adult collector went through them to find the desirable ones that they don't have. This is also a great find for a dealer or store owner who could sort them and add a lot of stamps to their inventory for very little cost per stamp. If sold I will ship these to any U.S.A. Zone Only for $12.00 or (Outside the U.S. for $45.00. Remember that you will pay customs because I will not mark these as a gift). I am not a dealer or a collector, just someone trying to place family memorabilia with those who can enjoy it before our children or grand children put it all into a dumpster. Thank you for viewing and good luck on all of your bidding.
