The ashtray itself is amber. It is attached to a very ornately sculptured extension. An equally ornate screw doubles as a handle. Midway down the extension is a faceted amber glass ball. The marble foundation is surrounded by an intricately designed metal base supported by four small legs. It is extremely durable and has lasted in my home for 34 years, when I bought it new.
