STANGL POTTERY AMERICANA DINNERWARE #2000 SERVICE FOR 4 (28 PCS) + 2 PLATTERS - EXCELLENT CONDITION PLUS 20 PCS IN LESSER QUALITY CONDITION The Americana Pattern was introduced in 1935 & was very popular during the middle & late 1930's. The pattern was produced through 1943 but Mr. Stangl encouraged his the sales staff to promote Colonial #1388 because he felt Americana resembled similar patterns produced by other companies. Consequently, a smaller amount of Americana was produced & is harder to find. Well......we found it!!!!!!!! The Americana line is a simple, somewhat primitive dinnerware set, made for everyday use in the home. While the colors are bright & cheerful, it seems that Stangl was not that concerned about quality. Even some of the better pieces have minor manufacturing issues such as uneven coloring, glaze pops, or dirt under the glaze. We have sorted these pieces into two categories based on quality. The first includes 30 pieces in all, including a 28 piece service for 4 in overall excellent condition. The service for 4 consists of 4 - 10" Dinner Plates, 4 - 9" Luncheon Plates, 4 - 8" Salad Plates, 4 - 6" Dessert/Bread Plates, 4 - 6" Fruit Bowls, 4 cups and 4 saucers. Also offered is 1 - 12 1/2" Oval Platter & 1 - 14 1/2 Oval Platter. As you can see in the pictures these are a mix of the four main colors used in the Americana line. Persian yellow, colonial blue, silver green, & tangerine. In the pictures, we have tried to show you how pretty this old Stangl handpainted dinnerware set is, by using all the colors for a bright cheery dinner table They look great together. The first 5 pictures show this set. In addition, we have 20 pieces of lesser quality, none of them are cracked or chipped but they have some flea bites, less even glaze & some crazing. These pieces are shown in the last picture. Shipping charges will be determined after the auction ends and the pieces are packed. Preferably, we would rather arrange for pick up or delivery if you are in the NJ/NY/PA area.
