For sale is a very clean and complete #4 Stanley-Bailey smooth plane made c:1942-45. Research indicates this to be a Type 17, but I am not 100% sure of the type designation. I would imagine that this plane, which is WWII, production is not easy to find in good condition. This tool appears to have all original parts and retains probably 70-80% of the Japanning finish. T is practically no pitting on the cast iron and it has been cleaned up and is ready to add to your collection or toolbox. This is not one of the rusted up pieces of junk so often seen in antique shops and malls with highly inflated prices. With a proper sharpening this tool is ready to return to work!
