Here for your viewing pleasure is a very nice Stanley #48 tongue and groove plane! This plane was manufactured between 1875 - 1944 and was apparently quite popular with carpenters as well as woodworkers. A plane like this one was probably used on furniture such as fitting drawers and bookcases.This plane has both cutters and they still have a very decent edge! As you can see in photo #6, the original front knob has been replaced with another wood knob, but it still feels pretty good to handle. The locking pin sticks a bit, but does work and locks the edge in both positions well. Some of the original chrome is still present, but there is no major damage to the plane nor is there any pitting.Overall, the plane has seen better days, but is still a nice looking tool and would make a great addition to any tool collection!If you have any questions, PLEASE contact me before you big.
