This is a fully re-tuned Stanley #3 Type 11 version ready to be a great user. It has been completely restored and is in outstanding condition. I am a woodworker also and retune these planes to be put back into service as they were when they were new. All parts have been cleaned and lightly coated with Camelia oil. The rosewood tote and knob have excellent grain. They both have been refinished with French polish and Deft lacquer. They are very close to perfect. The smooth sole has been lapped flat and is within 0.002" flat - according to my Starrett machinist straight edge and feeler gauges. The body has been cleaned and coated with a water/rust resistant enamel. It has the 3 patent dates dating this type. The mouth is very tight and square. The blade back has been lapped and polished. I left the bevel up to you since everyone has their own camber preference. This blade has the STANLEY V logo at the top and is basically full. Frog has the small brass wheel and a frog adjuster screw. All mating surfaces have been cleaned and polished for a tight fit. All hardware has been cleaned in a parts tumbler and returned to its original state. Very clean and solid. This is great looking and working version of a Stanley #3 Smoother.
