~~~~~ Stanley Bailey #8 Jointer Plane, Type 19 ~~~~~ Very nice #8 Stanley Bailey Jointer in excellent shape with a shop ready (if you are so inclined) iron. Appears to be a Type 19 (circa 1948-1961). At 24" this is the "horse" of the Stanley Bailey line. Has been lightly used. "BAILEY" located in front of, and "MADE IN USA" behind the high knob; the "No8" is behind the tote. Japanning appears 85% complete. Body has minimal pitting on sides and sole; nice patina. Broad flat rib cast around toe and heel. Iron is marked with the rectangular "STANLEY", "MADE IN USA" two-line logo. Has 2 3/16" of useable length left, with no pitting. Beautiful rosewood high knob with no cracks or chips, mounted in the ring cast in toe. Rosewood tote is in excellent condition, also with no cracks, but a few "wear" chips. A vertical "STANLEY" on the lateral adjustment lever. Lever cap has the recessed "STANLEY" logo and with a kidney-shaped hole. Please look at all photographs closely. Questions? - Ask. No returns.
