A beautiful Stanley/Bailey 3 plane, with finish baked on. The base bottom is rust and pit free with a crisp mouth and the plane has most of the characteristics of a Type 15, 1931-32. The tall hardwood knob has been refinished and has very nice gain and color (see pictures for detail). The rosewood tote has been refinished, has beautiful color and grain (see pictures for detail). The Stanley triangular logo blade has been honed scary sharp using diamond plate and Japanese wet stones at 30 degrees. The iron cap has its bottom edge honed flat to fit the blade perfectly. The Stanley crescent hole lever cap is smooth to the touch, and has the bottom edge honed flat to fit perfectly with the iron cap. The frog has the large brass adjusting nut. Overall, this plane is ready for your final tuning.
