This is a type 11, Stanley Number 603 Bedrock Smooth Plane. It has a smooth bottom and is labeled Bedrock 603 on the front, Bedrock on the lever cap, and has two patent dates of April 2, 95' and April 19, 10'on the after part of the body behind the frog. It is in good operating condition and appearance. It has no breaks, repairs, or blemishes, but has received use through the years. The Rosewood handle is in very good condition without repair or chips. The tote has several small cracks in the bottom that are visible and can be felt with your finger tip. It also has a small chip in the upper tote handle. Considering the age of this plane I feel the cracks and chip to be of little consequence. Both handles are dark with patina. It has nearly 95% of the origonal japanning remaining with no rust or corrosion present on the body of the plane. The cutter however has been cleaned of rust, but pitting remains on the upper section. The v shaped Stanley logo is partially obscured by this pitting. I feel the plane to be in excellent shape considering its age. Note: Paypal will not be accepted as a payment method. Contact seller for name and address for mailing check or money order.
