This is a Stanley Bedrock 606 flat bottom Fore Plane. It is a type 10 (about 1936 manufactur). It is in very clean, good working condition and appearance. It has 95% of the Japanning remaining. The bed of the plane has minor scratches, dents but no chips, repairs or stains. Only on a few can you catch your fingernail when you run the edge or bottom. None are significant nor do they detract from the plane's appearance. The bed contains the Bedrock label on the nose, Made in the USA behind the knob, and No. 606 on the heel. No patent date is present. The frog has three chips on the leading edge that are small but visible to the eye. The cutter has the notched Stanley Logo with Made in the USA underneath. The lever cap is nickel plated and comes with the kidney shaped bolt hole and the Stanley notched Logo with the Stanley Orange paint. It is in excellent condition. The knob and handle are in excellent condition without scraches, chips, repairs, or abuse. They are heavy with patina, and appear to be Rosewood. The surface of the cutter and cap and knob and handle appear to have a light coat of varnish that should be easy to remove if desired. This plane will make a valuable addition to your collection.
