To my regular customers: I am back listing tools, taking a break from a kitchen remodel. I have a LOT of great tools that I will be listing, including some extraordinary items, plus my usual "one man's junk is another man's treasure" tools and parts. You are bidding on one incomplete Stanley 113 circular or compass plane as pictured. The rear handle and its two screws are listed right now on another auction. It is marked "STANLEY RULE & LEVEL CO" on the top of the adjusting knob, "No 113" on the body, and has the later sweetheart logo on the iron. Something is amiss with the shaft that is directly below the adjusting knob, and I suspect that it is short, because it doesn't seem to have its full range of travel. Everything operates properly, including the arms and sole, but they just don't operate very far. It really wants a cleaning, but undeneath the crud it is actually in pretty good shape, and t is nothing close to pitting. The sole, for example, is better than most. T are no cracks or chips or chunks missing from any of the castings. Please see my other current as well as upcoming auctions, as I am or will be listing many more collectible planes and tools. ETHICS IN DESCRIPTIONS: I also buy for my collecting on eBay, and I have been burned too many times by misleading (duh did I forget to mention .......) descriptions, and pictures only of the left side when the right side was trashed. Life is much simpler for me if I disclose what I know or see about an item before you bid, and especially before you receive it in the mail. I sell lots of parts, and if you are nervous that I am swapping parts, please understand two things about me. One, I never seem to have the part I need, so t aren't many opportunities, and two, if I have swapped anything, I will tell you. If I think the wedge on a molding plane is not original, I will tell you. If I think a japanned plane has been repainted, I will tell you. What goes around, comes around. RETURN POLICY: I believe that if you give honest descriptions, and include enough pictures, you shouldn't need a return policy. However, that doesn't mean that I won't make an occasional mistake. Please bid with the assurance that if I have made an error in my listing, I WILL take care of you. MY PET PEEVE: is having my response to your question bounce back with an undeliverable email address. If you want me to take the time to carefully answer your question, then I want you to take the time to make sure that the email address that you have registered with eBay is correct. Just because you have the correct address with PayPal does NOT seem to guarantee that you have the correct address with eBay. I would guess that 1 response in 10 is not deliverable.US SHIPPING: Unless noted otherwise above, the fixed amount quoted buys you INSURED Priority Mail to anyw in the US. I will combine on multiple purchases to save on shipping whenever possible (see below), and I accept Paypal or money orders. On purchases under $50, AND if you have good feedback, I will also accept a personal check. COMBINED SHIPPING: If you are thinking about bidding on several items, especially small but heavy items like tools, I can often ship 2 or 3 or 4 items for not much more than one. The trick is whether or not I can use one of the Flat Rate Priority Mail boxes from the US Post Office. The cost is fixed, except for insurance, no matter what the weight, and no matter w in the US you are. These boxes are not huge, and a #7 or #8 plane won't fit, but I can just get TWO #6's or 3 #4's or a bunch of block or molding planes into one box. Even with the new postage rates, $10.00 will cover the postage and $50 insurance to anyw in the US, and leave me 60 cents towards the cost of bubble wrap and peanuts and tape. And $12.00 would cover the postage and $200 insurance. That can really bring the shipping cost per item down. T are savings on shipping several large items as well, obviously, although not as much as with the Flat Rate boxes. If you have questions about sh...
