Fresh from a private collection of first class Stanley tools: Stanley 45 Sweetheart Vintage Combination Plane in FINE condition. This example is the same type plane illustrated on the title page of David E. Heckel's book, THE STANLEY "FORTY-FIVE" COMBINATION PLANE . This type-16 plane is in near-new condition, retaining 100% of it's original nickel plating. The rosewood handle, knob and fence guide are in excellent condition. This is a complete set with all parts present and accounted for. It even comes with the "STANLEY" marked screwdriver and original use booklet. It's full compliment of cutters show little or no signs of use. They are sharp and completely free of rust, pitting or any other defects. The cutter box is in excellent condition retaining all of it's label. The hinged metal case is damage-free retaining almost all of it's original finish, inside and out. All three labels are present. The top label is missing a corner, while the two end labels are completely intact. This is one of Stanley's better box designs. The assembled plane can sit atop four upright support brackets mounted to the bottom of the box (see photo #8). The only way to upgrade this set is to find one brand new in it's original packaging.
