Star Diamond GP-6 Water Cooled Lapidary Cab Machine This auction is for a nice, heavy-duty, gently-used Star Diamond GP-6 cab maker, for lapidary, gem, rock and jewelry work. From a clean, non-smoking home, this unit is in very nice condition and has seen relatively little use making some hobby jewelry. It features two water-cooled grinding stones (extra-fine and fine) and a water-cooled drum sander, with a tool-less tightening lever to clamp the abrasive paper to the drum. T's also a buffing wheel on one side, and three brass valves to regulate water flow on the top of the unit. Made from heavy cast aluminum, this unit has no damaged or missing parts, and the sealed bearings are smooth and in great shape, with no slop or noise. Paint is in excellent condition, and the unit was drained of any residual water after each use. Each grinding stone has adjustable tool/material rests, and the front of the trays are tapped for 1/8" pipe threads so you can add drain tubes. The unit weighs almost 30 pounds, so it's very solid and stable, and has ears to allow bolting or screwing to a work bench.
