This is a gorgeous and unique piece of carnival glass by Northwood called Star of David and Bows. The glass color on this one is purple amethyst. This bowl has the circle N mark underneath for Northwood, circled with the line beneath and has absolutely no imperfections other than the regular small bubble or two, no chips, no cracks, I don't even see any straw marks on it either, just endless beauty. At 7 1/2 inches across, 3 1/2 inches tall from rim to bottom, and 2 1/2 inches of depth in the interior of the bowl making it a great size. The irridescence on this is fabulous, but makes it almost makes it a little hard to see what color the glass is however, if you hold it up in light or have it side by side with another purple amethyst piece, you can plainly see the foot is a beautiful purple amethyst. All carnival glass pieces are individual (no two are alike really) works of art and can be looked at and enjoyed for generations. They are saying this is the year of Fenton! Carnival Glass is one hundred years old this year. Fenton introduced Carnival in 1907 and Northwood, Imperial, Dugan/Diamond, and Millersburg soon followed suit. Fenton is the only one of these companies to have survived and is still producing beautiful works of art glass to this day. **Please check out the other items we have listed.
