Initially covering songs by classic instrumental surf bands, such as The Ventures, The Bel Airs, The Lively Ones, The Pyramids, The Tornadoes, Dick Dale, etc., in 2000 a booking agent told Bruce Duncan, Lead Guitarist, that for their band to secure the most possible gigs and get the greatest amount of public attention, they should focus on creating their own original songs. T began a five year long effort that resulted in two CD's of primarily original (but very traditional-sounding) surf instrumental tunes - about 45 in all, spread between the two CD's. The first CD, released in early 2002, "Surfin' Out West", received a very warm reception in the surf music community. The nation's #1 surf DJ, Phil Dirt in Northern California ( ) gave the album a 4-star rating.
