Greetings fellow Trekkies, Trekkers and Sci-Fi fans! Up for bids is one Screen Accurate, Very Cool, Loud and Clear, Fully Functioning Star Trek The Original Series Bluetooth Communicator! How many times have you wished you had one of these! Yes, they're back! After over a year now I'm able to start offering these Bluetooth Communicators again for a short time! I started working on this idea back in 2002 and after about two years I finally came up with something that worked and went together like I wanted. Last year we sold about 30 of them in the first limited run and now I am doing another limited run so do not miss out on this rare opportunity to own one of these! Since I've had so many requests for pictures of the inside I have included a few with the back cover off so you can see the size of the speaker, the special AAA Size 3.6V rechargeable Li-ion battery and mini USB charging connector! This Communicator will pair with any cell phone that is Bluetooth capable! Once paired you can stick your cell in your pocket then send, receive and make calls using your Communicator just like Kirk and the boys! Imagine the response you'll get pulling this bad boy out at the Vegas convention next month! It is full duplex, meaning that both parties can talk at the same time and it even accepts voice commands! This is a highly modified AA/DST Communicator, which is physically identical to the STTE and Master Replicas versions. Working with a Bluetooth electronics company in China , I got some custom Bluetooth Speakerphone electronics and, with some serious mods to the Communicator itself, I make everything fit inside and operate with all of the Communicator original LED’s and buttons! It looks and functions like a production piece. It was very important to me that the Communicator worked and appeared exactly like it did on the show and that all of its original buttons and Lights worked and had a specific function. So, 's how it works! *The Button on the side serves to turn it on/off, accept and reject calls and initiate voice commands. *The two buttons on the control panel, under the grill, turn the volume up and down. Pressing them repeatedly will turn it up and down in steps. This Communicator uses actual speakerphone electronics, not an amplified headset, so it is very loud. *The LED's also all work and have a function: The Blue LED, which is very bright, indicates pairing, the Red indicates Battery status, the Yellow LED flashes randomly whenever the grill is open. The Blue LED will flash about every 4 seconds while paired, the Red will remain lit while charging or flash every 3 seconds when the battery is low and remain lit 3 seconds when powered down. The Blue and Red LED's will alternately flash when in pairing mode, that is when you are initiating it with your phone. These LED's look VERY cool shining through the grill when it is closed! *The custom AAA size battery is a rechargeable 3.6 volt Li-ion and will provide up to 4-6 hours of talk time and 400 hours of standby. It takes up to 3 hours to fully charge. The Bluetooth Specs are Version 1.2 Class 2, 10 meters. Your cell phone needs to be within 10 meters of the Comm to function properly. It will come with a charging cable that plugs either into a cigarette lighter, or USB port. To charge you only have to remove the 4 screws from the back and plug it in, see the pictures. *When you flip it open you will hear the familiar grill opening chirps, just like in the show! In one of the pictures you will notice a pattern of small holes on its back cover. Behind this is a 1 & 1/2 in, 4 ohm speaker and it is far louder than any cell phone in "Speaker" mode! I can use it in my car and hear just fine. The microphone is at the top under the grill to the right of the Moiré disc, and no the Moiré does not spin.
