Steam Drifter On Slip Lowestoft Yard An Original Oil Painting by Peter Joseph Haddon (1935-) A superb painting by this gifted marine painter. The painting is a superb example of the artist's work which often depicts fishing scenes from the Norfolk and Suffolk coastlines. The painting is very well done and remains in very fine original condition, the painting is presented in a modern gilt frame. The painting is signed lower right. Peter Joseph Haddon was born in Great Yarmouth in 1935. He grew up with fond memories of the herring fishing industry in the 1940's and 1950's, eventually witnessing it's demise in the early 1960's. Haddon's oil paintings document this now disappeared industry and the Norfolk and Suffolk coastline where he worked. Subjects being taken from his early working memories and old photographs. Haddon's unique interpretations have made his work very desirable, it can now be found in private collections around the World with some of his admirers affectionately labelling him the Norfolk Lowry . This superb work measures; Picture: 29cm(11.5" ) x 18cm(7") Frame: 32cm (12.5") x 41cm (16") This painting is signed bottom right.
