This auction/listing is for the pictured Steiff figure. He is in excellent vintage condition. My grandmother was German and brought this fabulous Steiff Fireman who was created as a promotional item from the German Ziegler fire fighting company. This item is now retired and only limited numbers are available. 15 inches tall in wool felt uniform, complete with rope and hatchet hanging from the black belt. 4 brass button down the front of the jacket with the word Steiff imprinted. The face is made of long lasting vinyl, hands are felt, leather shoes, the neck is jointed and allows to turn the head in several directions. Exceptional attention to detail and top quality material as Steiff has always been known for. This item is in nearly perfect condition. ID 7889/05 – 1968. High value $600 according to another dealer. I wish I could give more information about him; sadly, I dont know too much about him, other than there have been only a few listed in the past years. What I can say is that he really is in surprisingly good condition, no cracks in the vinyl ~ Although his head had has a few scuffs, which I have left for his new owner. His uniform is perfect, a nice deep dark blue, no holes or issues that I can see. I photographed the inside of his hat, which seems to be the only area that has some discoloration.
