With "Second Edition" printed on the copyright page, which indicates that this is the correct 2nd edition. This is NOT a book club book. This is NOT an ex-library book.Buyer beware: the original 1st edition of THE DARK TOWER: THE GUNSLINGER was published by Grant in 1982. The story is that it took King 12 years to finish and publish the book. There were only 10,000 copies printed, a ridiculously low number considering King's popularity and the fact that King 1st editions now are published in the hundreds of thousands. Originally King had planned to publish only the 1st edition hardcover with no other printings to be published. However, there was such a hue and cry that King decided to publish a 2nd edition (offered here); again, only 10,000 copies of the 2nd edition were printed, so the 2nd edition is still astonishingly scarce.
