This auction is for a really nice Sterling American Scout kit. This kit was produced in the 50’s through the early 70’s. I’m now building my second Scout kit. Also a really fun boat to build. Everything is in the kit except the hardware kit. All of the sheets of wood all of the instructions, even the ladders and the packages of hardware with the prop and port holes even the steel shaft and housing are there but don’t use them. I have included information on where to buy the running gear and what to buy. The only thing that might not be able to be used are the decals ( they are old). The ship is 50” long and 7 “ in the4 beam setting on the deck it stands about 11” tall. You will need about 15 lbs to put her down into the water were she wants to ride. I use ¼ “ to ½ “ metal bars of steel x3” wide. The total waight of the boat is about 21 pounds. I don’t know which ship is more popular the American Scout or the Missouri battle ship. I have built both of them and hope to build both of them again.I do have an extra metal hardware kit that I will also be putting up for auction and it is almost complete. Here is what is in the kit 23 sheets of die cut parts 7 sheets of 3/32 balsa wood + 1 extra sheet 2 sheets of 1/8 inch plywood die cut parts 4 bottom pieces of balsa wood 1 stern piece of balsa wood 1 smoke stack of balsa wood 3/16x3/16
