Sterling Art Deco Cocktail Goblets, c1925, designed & Created by the Chicago Silver Co, Chicago, Illinois Silver in ContextThis well regarded firm was listed in business 1925 - 1950 as manufacturers of fine sterling silverware. Located right down the street from one of the most influential silversmiths in the Midwest (The KALO Shop), this producer of hand-wrought silverware created some of the finest Art Deco silverware & Hollowware in America during the 1920s.This Roaring set was surely produced to complement the top of a free-standing Art Deco Bar. Often, these fantastic Deco sets accompanied the wildly popular Sky-Scraper style sterling cocktail shakers & drink mixers of the Era (see my Shreve Sterling cocktail Shaker currently listed). Description Each Sterling Cocktail Goblet bares the Chicago Silver Company trademark, the word sterling and the production number 68 The classic and pleasing Art Deco pear-shaped cup design is attached to a slightly flared stem neck, descending and terminating in a spreading, circular, traditional trumpet foot. All cup interiors are beautifully gilded, displaying a soft, aged light-lemon glow The hand-wrought, elegant, smooth cup design nests gently into the hand (between the index and middle fingers), comfortably allowing the free flow of your favorite libations Each Goblet boasts a silky undisturbed soft gray patina; a surface condition that advanced collectors always appreciate finding on well cared-for sterling pieces nearing 100 years of age Each matching goblet stands approximately 4 1/2 inches tall and measures 2 3/4 inches across the cup opening Each goblet is hand made and tfore individual piece weights may vary.
