No Reserve! Miniature Vintage/antique Victorian charm bracelet padlock or closure. This dates to the late 19th century (1885 -1895). This is the extremely rare and desirable North Wind . It is pictured in Joanne Swartz's book Charms and Charm Bracelets, page 112. This is as good as they come (especially when they do not come around very often), and is in working condition. The tarnished silver has worn away on the high points but is mostly intact otherwise. The only markings are STERLING 925/1000 stamped into the backside. The key is not pictured, but will be included. The lock is in working condition, and unlocks and locks fine. As you can see the shackle shows the typical wear of similar bracelet closures of the period. FYI . This is the smallest of the two sizes made which may indicate this was for a child's bracelet. The larger though still small size measures 7/8 X 5/8 X 1/8 inch. Although it is described as the North Wind I like to think of it as a Werewolf . Either way it is an extremely rare figural padlock. I am cleaning out my garage, and hoping these will find a home. If anyone has questions or would like specific pictures please email, and I will be happy to help. Please include your email address if requesting pictures. Size of the lock pictured (and being auctioned) is 3/4 X 1/2 X 1/8 inch. I will gladly combine shipping if you win more than one lot. Shipping cost includes .70 for Delivery Confirmation. Insurance is available for additional fee. Please look at my other auctions for more lock groups. Thank you for looking! I added 2 pictures showing the key and the lock in the open position. The locks works very well and the shackle pops open when the key is turned. It is hard to tell but the key is gold colored with some tarnish on the barrel that looks like silver underneath the gold plate.
