Solid Silver Salt & Pepper

Shakers

Hello, and welcome to my auction. I have for you a mystery Silver Salt & Pepper Shaker Set. They are very pretty, with a soft satin finish over most of the body. T is a little embossed border of flowers at the bottom, and bright silver on top and bottom. They are very light weight, like sterling would be.

They are both marked "S. SILVER METAL" 28. T are no other marks on it. I am not sure what the "S. SILVER" means. It could mean "SOLID SILVER", which could be anything from 800/1000 to 950/1000, OR it could mean "STERLING SILVER" (925/1000). I tested it and it tests for a high silver content, but t is also a tiny, almost imperceptable trace of copper. That is as accurate as my test pen goes. So, I think it is pretty safe to say that these are either Coin Silver or Sterling, but I can't nail it down exactly.

If you love silver AND a good mystery...you will love these shakers! Be sure to check out some of my other fine items for sale on eBay. Please contact me with any questions you may have. Thank you for looking at my auction, and Happy Bidding!
