This is a set of 12 solid sterling "English Flower" spoons made by the Franklin Mint for the "Royal Horticultural Society".Each spoon measures 5" in length and weighs an average 24.75 Grams or 0.9 Troy Ounces.All total the 12 spoons weigh 297 grams or 9.55 Troy Ounces of solid sterling silver.Each spoon features a different flower, with an image of that flower at the top of the handle.The Flowers are: Rose, Freesia, Daffodil, Anemone, Dahlia, Gladiolus, Iris, Chrysanthemum, Gentian, Tulip, Columbine and Viola.Made in the 1973/74 timeframe by the John Pinches company of London.On the back of each spoon are the touch marks of:1) Initials "JP" stamped in an oval, which is John Pinches makers mark/initials.2) London Touch marks of an uncrowned leopard head and a standing lion. Also has an image/icon of a sideways "f", which probably stands for the Franklin Mint.Fitted in a sturdy, lovely hinged presentation case, each spoon fits snuggly into its own separate slot, with its' name written above.The Franklin Mint bought the John Pinches company in 1969, which allowed for the international expansion of the designs and craftsmanship of the company that was started in 1840, as a high quality medalist.These are wonderful spoons and for someone interested in old world craftsmanship and a chronicling of English Flowers, this would make for a read more
