This outstanding cased sterling carving set was made by the National Silver Co, between 1904, when it took the 'National' name, and 1945, when they quit making flatware. The company is based in New York. This late Victorian set doesn't seem to have been used much, if at all. The Sheffield Steel blade of the knife is shaped like a scimitar, and t are a few tiny spots on the blade, but only a fes light scratches & utensil marks. That knife is 13 5/8 inches long, with a 9 1/4 inch blade. The steel doubles as a skewer and sharpener. The monogram is 'R R.' The box measures 16 by 7 by 2 inches. I have several other fine pieces of sterling silver listed in my other auctions this week. Thanks for looking. No Reserve!!! SHIPPING FOR THIS ITEM WILL BE $5.05 TO NYC; $9.10 TO FLORIDA; $9.10 TO KANSAS CITY; OR $10.55 TO THE WEST COAST, PLUS INSURANCE IF WANTED. The one dollar handling charge is for peanuts and bubble wrap. I will combine winning items to save you money on shipping, when practical.
