Sterling Silver Art Nouveau Antique Victorian Pill Box This pretty Art Nouveau antique Victorian pill box was made of sterling silver by Adie & Lovekin Ltd of Birmingham in 1901. While in good overall condition for its age and without splits, holes or repairs, use has softened the ribbed pattern of the lid and added a number of minor dents to the base. The interior of the box is unmarked and the original hinge fastening is sound, efficiently enabling the lid and body to form a firm seal. The lid is stamped on its external edge with the Sterling Silver assay mark of a Lion passant and the date letter ‘b’ (1901). The base is stamped internally with a full set of Hallmarks comprising manufacturer’s mark (Adie & Lovekin Ltd) Anchor (for Birmingham assay office), Lion passant and date letter ‘b’.
