A very rare piece of early Broadway, New York Musical Theater.This is a Hallmarked Lebolt Sterling Silver Souvenir piece given to theatergoers who attended the 300th, and final performance of the Musical "FANTANA", at the Lyric Theater on Broadway, NY on September 12, 1905.The production was written by Sam Schuber t, a famous Broadway composer, producer and director.The star of the Musical was Douglas Fairbanks, Senior. The engraving reads, "Souvenir of 300th Performance of "FANTANA" at the LYRIC THEATRE, Sep.12th, 1905". The piece is 3 inches in length with cap inserted., about 3/8 inches wide, and 1/8 by 3/8 inch dimension for the hollow interior. The removable cap reads, STERLING "LEBOLT", with the appropriate maker's Hallmark. Cap pressure fits into the hollow main body quite snugly.It my have served as a snuff or match container, or simply just a souvenir item.Condition is very fine with minor scuffing on the blank side. The engraving is clear and bold.
