You are bidding on this fabulous vintage set of 56 pieces of sterling silver flatware by Reed and Barton in the "French Renaissance" pattern. This is a very ornate pattern & definitely has weight to each piece. The pieces are in excellent condition with no bends, dents, major scratches, repairs or monograms. They show minor wear from normal use and need polishing. The fork tines are straight, the bowls are smooth, and the mirrorstele (stainless steel) blades are bright. The set consists of the following: 10 Salad forks, measuring 6" & weighing 1.4 oz each 6 Bullion spoons, measuring 5 3/4" & weighing 1.4 oz each 10 Dinner knives, measuring 9" & weighing 2.1 oz each 10 Dinner forks, measuring 7 1/8" & weighing 1.8 oz each 10 Tea spoons, measuring 6" & weighing 1.1 oz each 4 Iced tea spoons, measuring 7 5/8" & weighing 1.4 oz each 1 Slotted serving Spoon, measuring 8 3/8" & weighing 2.6 oz 1 Slotted serving fork, measuring 7 3/4" & weighing 2.4 oz 1 Large serving spoon, measuring 8 1/4" & weighing 2.8 oz 1 Butter knife, measuring 6" & weighing 1.1 oz each 1 Seafood fork, measuring 6" & 1.0 oz 1 Butter Pat shovel ? , measuring 5" & weighing 1.0 oz The starting price considerably LESS than value of the silver content alone. You'll thoroughly enjoy this set for years to come. Silver chest is made of wood with dovetailed corners on both the lid & base. Hinges are intact, but the lid has pulled away from the hinges & has some missing slivers w the base hinges would attach; has a number of scratches as well. This is a beautiful timeless set!
