This is a fabulous estate item. It is gilt silver and is in excellent condition. It has a beveled mirror inside so I am thinking it was likely a patch box but I guess could have been for snuff. The lid fits tightly and it measures about 2 1/2" x 2 3/8" and is about 5/16" deep. It is heavy and weighs 68.4 grams or 2.41 ounces. It is only marked 800 on the inside which means it is 800 parts out of 1000 of silver unlike the 925 that we know today. T is no makers mark that I can find. Don't miss out because this will go to the highest bidder. If you have any questions please ask. Please enlarge the picture to see the item better and I combine items to save on shipping.
