Up for auction is a beautiful Sterling Silver Punch Bowl Set. Everything is marked .925 Sterling so everything is .925 silver. The set is also marked with a JR symbol and âeoemade in Mexicoâe I got this set out of an estate sale and believe itâe(tm)s quite old. Donâe(tm)t know anything about antique silver but itâe(tm)s very well made and heavy. I will describe each piece as best I can with sizes and approximate weights. I weighed each piece on a digital scale and have put the weights down. The set includes: I. A very large Punch bowl, for punch or whatever liquidâe¦ II. A long handled serving cup III. Big ornate platter. IV. 12 serving cups. I. The punch bowl weighs 4 pounds .15 ounces or 2,257 grams, itâe(tm)s 14 inches across with a height of 9 inches, the bottom stem is 7 inches across, marked âeoeJR made in Mexico .925âe on the bottom.II. The serving spoon weighs 12.09 ounces or 367 grams, itâe(tm)s 15 inches long with the bowl cup 4 ¼ inches across. The handle is 11 inches long. The handle is marked âeoeJR .925 made in Mexico .925âe III. The platter weighs 6 pounds 5.6 ounces or 2,879 grams, itâe(tm)s 23 inches across with a depth of 1 inch. The backside is marked âeoeJR .925 made in Mexico .925 Sterlingâe a very big heavy platter, can be used as a serving tray without the bowl or cupsâe¦. IV. Each cup weighs 4.7 ounces or 133 grams on each cup, t are 12 cups so the total weight is 1,596 grams. The diameter across the cup is 3 ¼ inches with a height of 2 ½ inches. Each cup is marked on the bottom with âeoeJR mad in Mexico .925 Sterlingâe If you add up the individual pieces it comes to 7,099 grams total weight. Other than the makers marks on the bottoms of the pieces t are NO INITIALS OF PAST OWNERS OF ANY KIND ON ANY PIECE. This is a good thing for the new owners. The total set is a fantastic shiny view and would make an extraordinary setting on any tableâe¦being that it is real silver. Payment due within 3 days of auction close.
