You are bidding on a Sterling Silver Repousse 1800's Cigarette Case. I was told this case was made in the 1800's and is Sterling Silver. I am picturing the hallmark in the cut down photo but just in case you can't see it this is our description of the mark. A lion with a key and under the lion the number 2 which all sits in an octagon shape. The case measures 3 3/8" L, 3" W and 1/2" Depth. The front of the case is made to slope as to fit a pocket better. Case has a border of repousse ornate scroll and leaf design. The middle scene on the front is a town setting of a festival and is set in the victorian era with people dancing, a bearded man standing on a barrel playing a musical instrument, a rabbit sitting in the upright position on a chair with a windmill, boat, horses, man fishing, buildings, etc. The back is made up of ornate repoussee design of leaves and scroll on all borders. The middle shows a hunting scene with 2 dogs and 2 masters set in the victorian era. The case is gold washed on the inside with a hinged closure that opens and closes easily. Only damage is 2 small dings which you don't notice because of the busy repoussee design. Minor scratches. Overall good condition. I combine shipping for multiple winners. Winner to pay shipping costs. Insurance is optional but highly recommended. If you choose not to purchase insurance read more
