A stunning large heavy sterling silver trophy cup. It ishallmarked for Sheffield 1929 with the makers marks being JD&S for JamesDixon and Sons, a top quality firm. It was made to be presented at a rifle shooting competition having a broad bowl supported by three cast rifles. The front has been engraved FJRC along with cross rifles - it is thick gauge so this could be buffed out. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs. It measures a fraction over 5 inches (13cms) tall by over 3.5 inches (9.2cms) across and weighs a very impressive 6 troy ounces (190 grams) - note this is the total silver weight alone it is not filed or weighted. A very good quality rare piece. I am currently listing other interesting and unusual silver - to take a look simply Check out my other items ! Be sure to add me to your favourites list ! It is imperative for me to maintain my high positive feedback rating and to get a fair price for the items I sell. For this reason I only sell selected items that are in first class condition. It is of course possible to find fault with almost all antiques. Any faults I mention will be extremely small and not at all noticeable but mentioned for accuracy. I photograph all my pieces at high resolution on backgrounds that will highlight any imperfections. If you are in any way not satisfied
