Up for bid is a beautiful sterling silver tea set made by a fine German company. This set consists of a coffee server, teapot, creamer and sugar with lid. The coffee stands 8 1/2" tall, the teapot is 7" tall, the creamer is 5" tall and the sugar is 5" tall. The weight of all the pieces is approximately 4 1/2" lbs. The underneath side of all four pieces are marked Handarbeit, 925, half moon, crown and Sterling. We have learned that Handarabeit means "Hand Made". The half moon and crown symbols identifies the entire German state and indicates their minimum purity standard which was enacted in 1886. You can see indications of the hand done craftsmanship on the inside of the pieces. The outside surfaces are smooth and bright. All pieces match with rose bud accents on the feet and finials. All the handles have elaborate scrolling and the lid openings have scroll work and rose bud decoration. The spouts on the two servers are delicately ribbed. The lids on the coffee and teapot are hinged. The hinges show no damage and move freely. We have looked all the pieces over and find no tears, separations or repairs. The surfaces show minor storage and use wear. The only imperfections noted are some minor denting. The sugar bowl has one very short dent in the underneath side. The teapot has a small dent on the left side of the spout and the right side of the body. Both the creamer and coffee are dent free. We ask for payment on the item to be received within 10 days of the auction close. We will accept your payment in the form of your personal check or money order. Money orders will allow prompt shipment, but we will hold personal checks for 10 days. We ship via USPS Priority Mail and ask that you consider purchasing insurance on fragile items. We will only charge for actual shipping and insurance costs. Never a handling fee.
