Incredible vintage late 1930's or early 1940's rare Parentisigned sterling silver figural bracelet. Excellent condition. Fabulous intricate design and weighs 2.2 ounces. Measures 8 inches long and the oval designs that make up the ornamentation range between 1 3/4 and 1 1/2. The bracelet is well designed and masterfully made. The links are rectangular and the right proportion to the overall size of the bracelet. A collectible piece of jewelry due to its craft and designers.* *Designed and made by the Parenti Sisters who immigrated from Florence, Italy to Boston, Ma about 1932. Both sisters were trained in Europe as silversmiths and remained in the jewelry business from the 1930's to the 1970's. It is worth noting that the Parenti sisters were pioneers in what was then the male dominated business of jewelry and design. It was not until the twentieth century that women could pursue significant opportunities in the traditionally restricted fields of jewelry design and production. In Massachusetts Italian-born sisters Delfina Parenti and Zoe Parenti Borghi led the way, operating jewelry galleries in Boston, Osterville, and Gloucester where they designed and sold their wares ( now both closed these many years).
