This is a piece of totally natural red branch coral. It has not been polished or dyed. It is from very old stock that I have been using to make jewelry with for many years, and I purchased it from the son of a gentleman who had owned a rock shop many years before that. Anyway it is old and was collected way before the ban on collecting this material. It most likely is mediterranean in origin, but I can't say for sure. These are perfect for a mineral collector, however I like to use these pieces in their natural form in my jewelry. I sometimes mount them to a pendant base and attach other stones such as turquoise or mother of pearl. They are great for wire wrapping or you can simply attach an end cap to the base to hang them from. The pictures are of two different sides and the mm/cm gauge will give you a good idea of the dimensions. The weight of this piece is 5.5 grams. These are priced low to sell.
