Pieces of this early California Art Pottery are extremely rare. This company was only producing art pottery for 5 years before the company burned down in Calaveras in 1902. Most of these pieces are in museum collections throughout the country. This one is a very fine example. It is not mint but repair to it would be minimal as t is only one chip in the top of the lip of the vase. It stands about 9 inches tall and about 5 1/2 at the widest point of the base. Bulbous base with cylindrical tapered neck. The glaze is dark brown with wispy tannish brown accents. Carries the Stockton Terra Cotta Rekston backstamp. Starting at 9.99 and no reserve.
