This is a good old-fashioned auction - no reserve. Starting bid is RIDICULOUS. Anytime I do this, I know I am taking a chance - lets have fun and see what happens. Iam selling my favorite garden goodies!!! These are items I have been decorating my shop and garden with for the last 20 years. It seems like it is time to unload some amazing pieces and actually price these treasured finds to sell. DESCRIPTION : This is a beautiful solid, cast stone English Sea Shell Birdbath. This Birdbath has incredible aged detail that looks like it has been around for a 100 years. T are easy-to-the-eye grooves throughout the surface area and a very nice swirly design on the edges of the platform (that would be great to set a bird, frog or some flowers). The birdbath measures a 12" by 16" and is like 3" high and weighs about 11 lbs., give or take. The texture is absolutely amazing too, it appears weatd, both gritty and smooth. But what I find really special is the classic creamy white patina, it is a very traditional, sophisticated patina! This estate quality piece has awesome pocks, pitting and general erosion from the original antique but unlike that item which was clearly deteriorating this casting is solid and secure and fully intact . Best of all, it is not made of chintzy resin or chippy plaster but is solid cement stone so it is safe outdoors. read more
