Stoneware Cobalt SaltGlaze Chicken Pecking Corn Crock Description: You are bidding on a salt glaze 2 gallon stoneware crock with a cobalt chicken pecking corn design. Circa 1850's to 1860's. T is some staining on the crock (from items being stored). The inside is a dark brownish green glaze. The chicken design is done by slip trail and is very bold. The #2 is stamped on the front above the chicken. The very top is not glazed. T are a few very small chips around the rim on the inside. T are NO chips around the bottom. T are some spots w the stoneware (when it was made) has pulled away. The reserve is a very low $1000.00. I hope I have described it good for you but if not please please email me more questions. See pictures!!!Measurements are: Crock - 2 gallon, 9 1/2" tall, 9 3/4" across the top, 9 1/2" across the bottom, 29 1/2"around the center, and the handles are 4" long by2" tall Design - 7 1/2" wide and 7 3/8" tallInsurance is offered but depends on what the final price of the auction is.
