Fantastic near-matching pair of antique 2 gallon stoneware flagons by Powell of Bristol, with impressed name of Pountain, Girardot & Forman Limited, Derby (maltsters and wine merchants). Lovely condition, nicely impressed lettering and numbers. Please see all photographs and if any more required, just let me know. From what I can make out, the company were in operation from the mid-to-late 1800's, as maltsters (and brewers?) and subsequently wine merchants. I'm not sure when the company ceased, and am rather assuming that it existed into the early 1900's. Stonking items, so collection in person offered; could deliver for fuel etc. costs within 20 mile radius of Nottingham (please email for price if this option preferred). General I’ve tried to describe the items as accurately as possible, but they are veteran pieces and so not perfect!
