This is a wonderful example of a stoneware seated spaniel dog. Made of a buff colored stoneware clay, this dog is glazed with a dark, shiny brown glaze. It has some hand tooling on the chain, eyes, nose, mouth and collar. Would guess the age to be 1890-1915. This dog was found in Missouri and was from an old estate. The family was from Ohio so we do not know for sure the origin of the dog. Condition is near mint with only a slight small ship on the base at the corner. The size of the base is 5 3/4" in length, 7 1/2" tall, and 3 3/4" wide. T is a signature or makers mark on the front edge of the base. The glaze has crawled in this area and it is not easily readable. Take a look at this neat stoneware dog! Winning bidder to pay shipping and insurance on this piece and will be figured at the end of the auction. Any questions, please email. Thanks for looking.
