Straight Razor-Chas. Adam, NY-**SHAVE READY**-(NR) The Straight Razor Guy So you've been looking over all the razors on Ebay looking for one that's Big , Black , Fancy , Shiny and Sharp because you need one you can actually use to get a great shave with. That all seems like a perfectly reasonable request to me and I have it for you right What I'm offering is a Chas Adam of Rochester, NY straight razor. It's a Tonsorial Art Model and it was made in Germany. I obtained it in well cared for condition recently at an estate sale and I've cleaned it, sharpened it and sterilized it before offering it for your use or collection. This one shaves great if that's what you need and it comes with its original box in good condition. Please review the following condition specifics, check the pictures above and contact me with any questions you may have that remain unanswered. Item condition specifics : Blade - The blade has a clean and polished finish with no rust, chips or cracks. It has a square point and measures 6/8" in width. It is made of carbon steel. It shows minimal hone wear. The tang is nicely humped Handle/Scales - The handles are ebony colored celluloid They are highly polished and free of scratches, cracks or nicks. T is no warping. They have fancy silver bolsters that are in good condition and cleanly affixed Pins - The pins are a nickle silver and appear to be original or at least t is no indication that this razor has ever been repinned. The pins are in good condition. Wedge - This razor has an ivory colored wedge which is even, smooth and tight between the scales. Box/Coffin -This razor comes with its original case that is in very good condition. Action - The action of this razor is smooth. The blade closes evenly between the scales and t is no wobble between the blade and the scales. The tension is nice and is even throughout the opening and closing of the blade. Balance - This razor is more substantial in weight and the balance is good. Sharpness *- This razor is SHAVE READY ! * *The term 'Shave Ready' means something different to each of us so let me define for you what it means to us. If a razor has been listed as 'Shave Ready' it has been honed on two progressively finer grits of Norton stone to establish a proper bevel. It has then been stropped on two progressively finer grits of diamond pasted paddle strops. It has then been stropped on linen and finally lightly stropped on leather. The razor has passed the 'Hanging Hair Test-HHT' which is pretty widely accepted and being acceptably sharp. The item is then shave tested by me to determine if it provides a clean, close comfortable shave. It is then cleaned, sterilized, photographed and listed for sale. If the item passed the above test I list it as 'Shave Ready' and it will only require a light stropping on leather by you prior to it's first use. If the razor did not pass the above test or was not tested, it will be listed as 'Not Shave Ready' . If you need more information, ask me. Packaging- Your razor will be delivered in a box with proper padding to provide for safe arrival. Your razor will not be delivered in a padded envelope which is just asking for problems.
