String Stretcha... /index/index.php When restringing its essential to stretch strings in to settle them, most people do this by hand (like we used to) or by playing them in. That kind of works ok, but you'll notice that unless you really spend a long time yanking the strings at every point along their length it never works as well as you'd like it too. This thing fixes that, and we've found it makes guitars FAR more stable than stretching strings in by hand.How it works: I run The Guitar Repair Workshop here in Manchester, we're a Gibson and Taylor authorised service center, and a couple of years ago Tom Weber (guitar tech to Van Halen etc) mentioned to me that I should try them. You don't ignore a guy like that, so I bought a couple. Amazing, so simple, cheap, lasts forever, works a treat, thank you Tom! We use ours everyday on every guitar to stretch strings in before finishing the set up etc. The nuisance of strings stretching in that last bit when guys come in to collect their guitars is virtually gone and thankfully our fingers don't have the tell tale cuts in the end from endless slicing up and down the high 'e' too - relief!
