Stuart Abelman's Black Iridescent Optic Paperweight!!
Stunning is the word for this Black Iridescent Optic Paperweight. The pattern and beautiful shades of color really highlight this work of art. Pictures are of actual piece, taken under a light tent, to reduce glare. Hard to capture the true spirit of this weight. The round darker areas appearing in the front of paperweight are reflections of my camera. It stands 2 1/4" tall, is 2 3/4" wide, and weighs 15 oz. Item is new, direct from the studio, is signed Abelman, 3SG, 2006 and includes a card that certifies your signed piece as an authentic work from the Abelman ArtGlass Studio.
Stuart Abelman is a master in the ancient art of glass blowing. At his studio in California, each piece of art glass is individually hand worked and infused with the elegance of his creative style. The colors are achieved by adding precious metals such as gold and silver to the molten glass. By layering the different colors of molten glass and using metal tools to handwork them, the patterns are created. Ableman Art Glass pieces can be found in museums, galleries and private collections throughout the world.
