Beil (1894-1976) was a Montana cowboy, during which time he befriend Charles Russell. Russell later referred to Beil as the `best feller I ever seen modeling hosses an` cowpunchers`. Beil would later participate in Russell`s funeral procession. He was primarily a bronze sculptor, specializing in western scenes.
