This auction is for a very nice all original vintage Art Deco style 1930's FADA Butterscotch Catalin Radio in excellent as-found working condition. The exact model number is uncertain but it is believed to be a model 156L made in 1939. The item is in excellent physical condition and it is a very good working radio as well. The beautifully swirled Butterscotch Catalin case is as close to being perfect as you can get, t are absolutely no chips, scratches, scuffs, burns or repairs anyw The handle, knobs and the grill are also in pristine condition and according to the original owner they are all the originals. The color is very rich and deep with a very high gloss, the grill is a deep green color with lighter color swirls throughout it. The knobs and the handle are a match to the cabinet and t are no cracks or scuffs or any other damage marks on them either, the dial cover is nice and clear with only a very minor scratch on it near the lower right corner. The Fada logo is also in very nice condition and the dial scale and pointer are both excellent as well. The item does work very well and I was told by the surviving owner that the chassis was recently professionally serviced and it was totally recapped at the same time so it is in excellent working condition and the radio was in thier family since new. The only defects that I was able to see is what appears to be a defect from the factory in the top near the front edge t is a spot about the size of a sewing needle, possibly an air bubble that is barely noticeable and the cardboard back is missing and it looks as if t was a label on the bottom that is no longer t otherwise I can see no other defects and this radio is truly gorgeous, especially when it is operating and the glow of the tubes and the dial light are shining through the cabinet. I have included 12 pictures so please look at them carefully and you will see how beautiful this radio truly is and if after looking at them you have any questions I will try and answer them for you. The dimensions are 9"X 6" X 7" and it will be very carefully packaged, double boxed and shipping within the continental United States will be by FedEx, Local pickup is also an option if you prefer it and since this is vintage electronics it is being sold as is. The winning bidder will be responsible for actual shipping cost, after packaging the item weight will be 12 pounds and it will be shipped from Akron, Ohio 44320.
