This is an auction for a truly beautiful dessert set. The set does not have a maker's signature that I recognize, however it does have a number and a "mark" on the back of some of the pieces. This is shown in the photo. Based on my experience, I would say this set is late 19th or early 20th century, probably German or Silesian, maybe French or Czech. Regardless of age or origin, the set is stunning. T are six plates and an oval serving piece in the auction. The server is 8" by 11", has a highly decorative edge with cobalt blue trim, embossing, and gold detailing. Immediately inside of the edge is a pale blue border that transitions to a mild yellowish peach color in the center. T are a number of well done transfers of pink and yellow flowers and leaves. The plates are 8.5" in diameter and decorated in the same fashion as described for the serving piece above. I have included a number of photos so you can assess the details yourself. As to condition, all the pieces are in excellent shape. One plate has a tiny fleabite on the reverse side of one of the edge points, but that is the only chip or crack we could find on the entire set. T is some minor utensil scratching on a few of the plates (the set is old and has been used), but not much. All in all, this is a great antique treasure find! No reserve!
