This antique energetic and must have collector's rug is absolutely stunning at every angle. It is of Persian origin and dates to the late 1890's to 1900'S. A myriad of influences are obviously evident. It displays an immense variety of colours with the very best abrash throughout. This antique is fully verified by the Minansian Rug Company, Oscar Isberian Rugs and the Oriental Rug Gallery (best rug dealers in the midwest) as containing 100% natural dyes and authentic as described. I would like to add that I originally purchased this rug for $2850 in 1999. I will be moving into my new home in the fall of 2008 for which this home is wall to wall carpet (no hardwood floors) for this fact alone is the only reason I am selling it. RARE in that fact alone, it possesses fighting animals joined by flowing arabesques. This rug should appeal to Caucasian and Turkish lovers alike. The measurements are approximately 4'6" x 6'7". This handmade carpet is finely woven with low clipped pile. This antique carpet is pictured in my home. My picture quality does not give this antique justice as some of the pictures appear dark. A dialog was opened regarding the exact origin of this piece thru the local dealers in my area. 90% have stated that in their opinion that this rug is a Lavar-Kerman while the others believed it to be an Isphahan rug. I will tfore declare the origin of this rug to be what the majority of experts have decided. Best wishes ps. I have 8 "watchers" going into this weekend, if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
