Stunning Art Deco or Art Nouveau "nude lady at pond" bronze clad metal tray. Designed by Peter Maneredi. Made by the Pompeian Bronze Company, Brooklyn, New York. Circa 1920's. The tray has many uses - could be used as an ashtray, dresser tray, desk tray, candy dish, etc. It is unique, and it is absolutely exquisite! The lady is kneeling with water lily plants, bubbles and fans at the base. T is an amber colored glass insert in the tray. The deco lady is made of some kind of metal with a bronze-clad finish. The colors are bronze, iridescent green and gold. The bottom has its original felt, and a label which reads, "Made by Master Craftsmen, Pompeian Bronze" (see picture). The overall measurement is 7" long, 5" wide, and 4" tall. The condition is amazingly very good - shows wear and some missing finish (mostly in the tray), but t are no chips, breaks, cracks, or repairs. The glass insert is signed "Nuart", it fits nicely in the tray, and t is a chip on the rim. If desired, the insert can be replaced with no problem. This fabulous deco lady tray came from an estate in San Francisco, and is vintage. She has a great deco look - very elegant and unique. A rare and wonderful find. Pictures don't do her justice. She is truly a quality piece, and would make a wonderful addition to someone's collection. Buyer pays shipping and insurance. Paypal, money orders, and checks are acceptable.
