STUNNING-HUGE C1920 ANTIQUE 12K GOLD FILLED CAMEO PENDANT I am so pleased to offer this is a STUNNING and HUGE Antique 12K Deco Shell Cameo Pendant ...in wonderful antique condition... and it measures 1 3/4" in length by 1 1/4" in width... and sure to get noticed ! I currently have a cameo bracelet that would match this perfectly. HISTORY It is Circa 1920 by design and styling.and may be earlier..and it is stamped 12k GF and is gold filled , and antique quality gold filled jewelry such as this is considered to be equivalent in quality to todays low karat gold. I It is also stamped A & Z A & Z CHAIN CO - PROVIDENCE RI - Founded 1905 and ceased in 1970. They manufactured quality items and these are extremely collectable due to the companys production is ceased. This is a GORGEOUS piece and will definitely make a statement when being worn! This looks stunning on the neckline. It has beautiful beaded filigree work surrounding the Cameo and is antique yellow gold ..unlike the brassy yellow gold of today.. in all four corners are beautiful leaves in white gold fill for a stunning contrast. DESCRIPTION & SIZING It is gold fill but it looks like solid low karat gold , and I had to take a second look when i obtained it ....this is due to the fact t is no wear to the gold at all to the exterior surface. It has that smooth and shiny feel that comes with gold. It is of quality construction from times gone by. .THE Filigree work is SOLID NOT HOLLOW and although it looks a delicate it will withstand a good deal of punishment without fear of denting. The cameo centerpiece measures an amazing 1 3/4" in width including the bale and 1 1/4" across. The bale folds down so that the pendant can also be worn as a brooch..so it has a dual use... so versatile ! This is beautifully constructed and this such a Deco look to it..and gorgeous on...and I was advised it is a Shell Cameo.. but as i do not normally sell Cameos i am unsure but I have taken close ups and this cameo is so detailed and BEAUTIFULLY CARVED and the woman looks real..even her nose is finely carved.. t is no chipping to the Cameo that i can see.. It would look fabulous on an antique chain and i will be listing quite a few various Victorian and Edwardian chains in the coming weeks. It weighs approx 12 grams which further adds to its appeal ! This is a MUST for the collector of antique Gold Fill jewelry or Cameos. Due to its lovely antique condition , this would be a perfect gift for that special someone and will come giftboxed as always for giftgiving...
